Grill Outreach

Not Just Smoke, a nonprofit ministry with a grill on wheels that provides food in a variety of outreach settings, grew out the men’s ministry at Abundant Life Fellowship and now is a multi-church ministry.

The outreach began as a small grill ministry providing burgers, hot dogs, fries and other fixings at Abundant Life’s inaugural August Overflow event in 2009.
From there, Abundant Life’s men’s ministry began taking the grill to several area high school football games at districts where ALF boys were playing. Among those districts were Crestview, Columbiana and East Palestine.

Since then, the grill has been to Avondale Baptist Church for a neighborhood party; the East Liverpool Way Station; Moraine State Park, as part of ministry through the Pittsburgh Rescue Mission; Christmas gift-wrapping and warm-up for shoppers near Southern Park Mall; Pleasant Valley Park in New Waterford, where an afternoon picnic was provided; Lisbon Banquet; Realife Church’s winter coat and assistance outreach in Salem; and much more.

The grill was part of ADAPT’s (Alcohol and Drug Awareness Prevention Team) Family Fun Fest in July at Firestone Park in Columbiana, and it returned for the third year to Abundant Life’s August Overflow.
